Crimson Altar

I came across this image today that I did ages ago for Little Shoppe of Horrors magazine. It was done totally in Manga Studio - pencils and inks. An early experiment using the application. Looking at it now I quite like it and thought it good enough for the blog. I ying and yang over Manga Studio and tend to use it for effects work more these days , inking an image originally with a pen. Does it make a difference? to me it does - I see myself falling into routines of inking with MS - chance becomes less of a factor and chance can make a drawing sometimes. It does have some great features though like perspective rulers , tones and sfx never mind lettering! But like anything it's a tool and not the answer to everything especially when it comes to getting your heart down on the page ...

Sci Fi Art Now

This was done for a book called Sci Fi Art Now. I did a rough layout and then drew and coloured it in Photoshop in a freeform way. Came out alright I think. Titled pretentiously Angels Descending or some such cobblers...

I've never drawn Wonder Woman before and am old enough to remember Linda Carter fitting into her tv costume just , which I suppose had to influence my take. I probably spent more time researching WWs costume ( no really) than drawing this pic! The things I do for money ...
